{"id":143,"date":"2014-06-19T07:24:49","date_gmt":"2014-06-19T07:24:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bciran.org\/wplocationen\/?p=143"},"modified":"2014-06-19T07:26:24","modified_gmt":"2014-06-19T07:26:24","slug":"a-report-about-ill-political-prisoners-at-rajai-shahr-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bciran.org\/wplocationen\/prisoner\/a-report-about-ill-political-prisoners-at-rajai-shahr-prison","title":{"rendered":"A report about ill political prisoners at Rajai Shahr Prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Breathing in Confinement &#8211; Currently a large number of political and conscience prisoners in different prisons of Iran are suffering from different diseases and lack of appropriate treatments for these prisoners has become a \u201cTrend\u201d in Iran\u2019s prisons.<\/p>\n<p>Some of these prisoners had some disease already, before being detained and some of them have been ill after arrest in the prison. However, their condition has got worse because they do not have access to appropriate and on-time treatment and it has made their condition worse. Some of them are facing with high and serious risk of death or serious body harm.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Among different prisons, Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj with more than 90 political and conscience prisoners in Hall 12 of ward 4 is one of the populous prisons in the country in terms of number of political and conscience prisoners. This number of prisoners is in addition to 90 Sunni conscience prisoners who are held in Hall 10 at the same ward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBreathing in Confinement\u201d has prepared a list and latest status report of political and conscience prisoners who are detained in Rajai Shahr prison, Karaj.<\/p>\n<p>1- \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 Hassan Taffah, 85, was arrested in 2008 for Acting against National Security, Propaganda and Combat against Regime and was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by Tehran revolutionary Court.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from Leukaemia (Blood Cancer). Informed sources have warned about his condition and said to \u201cBreathing in Confinement\u201d that if he does not take his medications, even for one day, he will die. He was transferred to hospital in April the 14<sup>th<\/sup> this year but, he was taken back to prison after just one night without getting any treatment.<\/p>\n<p>2-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Rasool Bodaghi, 46, On First of September 2009 after being called to Islamshahr Education office, he was arrested and later on was sentenced to 6 years imprisonment and 5 years Exclusion from Social Activities by Revolutionary Court presided by Judge Salavati with accusation of propaganda against regime, Collusion and Rally to disturb National Security.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from cervical disc problem and severe headache and authorities refused to treat him and rejected his treatment leave permission, till now.<\/p>\n<p>3-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Khaled Hardani, he is charged with hijacking an airplane and is sentenced tolifetime imprisonment. He has been 14 years in prison till now.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from acute Gastric Ulcer. Although, his admission was confirmed by the prison clinic from 18 months ago but, still the authorities do not comply to send him.<\/p>\n<p>4-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Saleh Kohandel, he is sentenced to 10 years imprisonment because of supporting an Opposition Group and he has served more than 7 years so far.<\/p>\n<p>Kohandel is suffering from a kind of Leukaemia and Prison\u2019s officials refuse special tests to diagnose the disease and cure his disease out of prison.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>5-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mohammad Nazari, he was charged with supporting Democratic Party of Kurdistan of Iran and sentenced to life sentence. He has already spent 21 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Nazari is suffering from extreme physical weakness and resistance to treatment. He is suspected of having a brain tumor and has been rejected to be sent to the hospital for diagnosis and stopping his disease progress.<\/p>\n<p>6-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Amanollah Mostaghim, he was a fellow of the Scientific Institute of Iranian Baha&#8217;is and has been sentenced to five years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Mostaghim who is an engineer has had heart operation and is suffering from severe heart failure.<\/p>\n<p>7-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Farhad Sedghi, he is also one of the Scientific Institute of Iranian Baha&#8217;is\u2019 fellow and has been sentenced to four years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from chronic kidney stone maker and should have surgery. He is also suffering from prostatitis and gallbladder and despite prison\u2019s clinic confirmed that he needs to be sent to hospital the officials avoid to do so.<\/p>\n<p>8-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fouad Moghadam, he is one of the Baha\u2019is online University\u2019s lecturers and has been sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>Fouad Moghadam is suffering from cervical and back disc, also from heart failure. He has a history of Laparotomy operation. According to an informed source, he is in a high risky condition and it is very likely that he loses his life if not receiving proper treatment.<\/p>\n<p>9-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mashallah Haeri, 58, is accused of having contact with opposition (Obstinate Group) of the Regime and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>Haeri is suffering from advanced heart disease and had stroke once in prison. Last time on 3<sup>rd<\/sup> June 2014 after he went into coma in the prison he was transferred to hospital and was returned to the prison without full treatment.<\/p>\n<p>10- Mohammad Banazadeh Amirkhizi, 63, sentenced to 5 years imprisonment with \u00a0 accusation of having contact with obstinate groups.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from heart disease, prostatitis, and diabetes and also high cholesterol. The prison officials have repeatedly avoided sending him to clinics and still he has not got necessary treatments.<\/p>\n<p>11-\u00a0 Saeid Rezaei, He is one of the former managers of Iran Baha\u2019is society and has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>Saeid Rezai is suffering from gastric and heart problems. Apparently, he needs heart operation.<\/p>\n<p>12-Karim Maroof Aziz, He is Iraqi and was sentenced to lifetime prison and till now he \u00a0has spent 17 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>He has kidney failure, liver and gallbladder. Karim Maroof Aziz, had appendix operation in February 2013 and his condition got worse as he was returned to prison too early.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>12-\u00a0 Hanif Naimi, he is a Baha\u2019I citizen and has had several heart attacks. He is in hospital and under treatment now.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>13-\u00a0 Keivan Samimi, he is a National-Religious activist and has been sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from liver and heart disease. On 26<sup>th<\/sup> May, without prior notice he was returned to Rajai Shahr prison from Shariati Hospital in Tehran and he is in a disturbing condition right now.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>14-\u00a0 Heshmatollah Tabarzadi, he is the editor of Iranian Democratic Front. He has history of several detentions and more than 10 years imprisonment. He was arrested on 28<sup>th<\/sup> December 2009 at noon and has been sentenced to 9 years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>Tabarzadi is suffering from progressed diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>15-\u00a0 Kourosh Ziaei, he is also a detained Baha\u2019i citizen.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from lumber vertebra wear. He has a history of lumber disc operation.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>16-\u00a0 Saeid Abedini, Iranian-American pastor, sentenced to 8 years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>He had stomach and gallbladder operation and suffers from urinary tract\u2019s congestion. Saeid Abedini was in hospital for 2 months but on 20<sup>th<\/sup> May 2014 after being beaten by prison officers, was returned to Rajai Shahr prison. He was stricken to interior bleeding because of electrical shockimpact.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, his mother was beaten and insulted by the officers in hospital.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>17-\u00a0 Seyed Mohammad Seifzadeh, judiciary solicitor and one of the founders of institute of Human Rights Defenders. He has been sentenced to 8 years imprisonment in total.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from heart failure, kidney, bowel, colitis, liver, discs and sciatica pains and problems. Last time, on 10<sup>th<\/sup> April 2014 he was transferred to hospital because of heart problem.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>18-\u00a0 Seraj Sobhani, Baha\u2019i citizen, sentenced to 5 years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from progressed heart disease, Gut failure and stomach ulcers. He is 67 years age and he is in dangerous situation due to his old age.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>19-\u00a0 Behrooz Isapour, he was in Iranian Army official and has been convicted to 10 years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from heart disease and high blood pressure and his body is resistant against the treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, less than one month of his sentence is remaining.<\/p>\n<p>20-\u00a0 Zaniar Moradi, he has been sentenced to death on charge of murder of Marivan\u2019s Jemaah Imam\u2019s son.<\/p>\n<p>Zaniar Moradi is suffering from severe Lumber Disc and he had one operation so far.<\/p>\n<p>However, prison authorities often have obstructions in his treatment process and sending him to the hospital.<\/p>\n<p>An informed source said to the \u201cBreathing in Confinement\u201d, \u201cAgainst his objections regarding their deliberate sabotage the prison authorities often respond that&#8221;You will be executed and do not require treatment\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>21-\u00a0 Farhad Fahandejh, he is a Baha\u2019i citizen from Gorgan and has been sentenced to 10 year imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from physical weakness and chronic depression. In addition his body resists against treatment, so that he is not in a good condition.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>22-\u00a0 Mehdi Mahmoudian, he is sentenced to five years of imprisonment because of publicizing the events in Kahrizak prison and he is suffering from stomach ulcers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>23-\u00a0 Reza Shahabi, Board Member of the Syndicate of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company, sentenced to 6 years imprisonment. He was exiled from ward 350, Evin prison, to Rajai Shahr prison on 1<sup>st<\/sup> June and he went on hunger strike since then.<\/p>\n<p>He is suffering from severe discomfort spine and Doctors have declared, in the absence of specialized treatment outside prison left side of his body will be paralyzed.<\/p>\n<p>Reza Shahabi is suffering from high blood pressure as well.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>24-\u00a0 Asghar Ghattan, 60, he was charged of supporting one of the opposition groups and sentenced 5 years imprisonment. He was exiled to Rajai Shahr prison, Karaj, on 1<sup>st<\/sup> June along with Reza Shahabi and five other prisoners.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Asghar Ghattan is suffering from cancer and furthermore, heart disease, stomach cancer, eye cataracts, migraines, anemia and liver, also prostate and he needs some immediate surgeries.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>25-\u00a0 Asadollah Hadi, He was charged with acting against national security, disturbing public order and has been sentenced to five years in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Asadollad Hadi had a heart operation and he is in a critical condition now.
