Breathing in Confinement – On Monday, November\u00a0\u00a020, 2019, shortly before the implementation of his \u201can eye-for-an-eye retaliation\u201d sentence, a prisoner hanged himself and was found dead in Correction Center number 2 of Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj.<\/p>\n
Breathing in Confinement- the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, has identified the prisoner as Majid Alibakhshi. Majid who had previously been convicted to the inhumane sentence of an eye-for-an-eye retaliation (blinding), and is just about to be blinded, committed suicide and found dead in prison.<\/p>\n
According to the information received by\u00a0\u00a0Breathing in Confinement, on Monday, November 11, after this prisoner suicided and his body was transferred to the health center in prison, the condition in Rajai Shahr prison was changed\u00a0to maximum security status. Hence the prison\u2019s health center continued to reject patient prisoners until the afternoon.<\/p>\n
