According to Javan Online, a prisoner sentenced to death in Tehran province was saved from death with the consent of the victim\u2019s family.

The defendant was tried and sentenced to death upon request by the victim’s relatives. However, paying the blood money, he managed to obtain the consent of the victim\u2019s family, said the prosecutor’s representative.<\/p>\n
The defendant subsequently stood at the stand and once again told the story: “A few years ago, Rahman brought home an Afghan girl, Razieh, as a maid. We were their neighbors, so when I saw that girl, I became interested in her and pretending to visit Rahman at his home, I would meet her. When Rahman found out the truth, he spoke to me and ask me to stop meeting the girl and to wait for her father when he comes to Iran and ask him to marry her daughter. I was badly in love with Razieh, so I did not accept his advice, but Rahman wouldn’t give up and prevented me from meeting Razieh.”<\/p>\n

The defendant said in his last defense: “Believe me I was not going to kill him and I just wanted to threaten Rahman, but the incident killed him and his daughter.\u00a0\u00a0When the death sentence was upheld, my family sold their house with difficulty and managed to pay 1 billion and 50 million tomans to Rahman\u2019s family as blood money. I request the court to reduce my sentence so that I can be released as soon as possible.”<\/p>\n
In another report from Ilna news agency, a juvenile offender was released from execution after continuous follow-ups and tries by the authorities of Esfahan Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Centre.<\/p>\n
Head of the Esfahan Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Centre said: “The prisoner, who was sentenced to death for murder by the judicial authorities, was released after the efforts of the staff and officials of the center.”<\/p>\n
