Breathing in Confinement: Atena Daemi, a civil\u00a0rights\u00a0activist who is serving her fifth year in Evin Prison, was summoned\u00a0this morning to Branch\u00a02\u00a0of Evin Prison Court,\u00a0for a new case\u00a0filed against her.<\/p>\n
Atena Daemi was summoned to Branch\u00a02\u00a0of the Prison Prosecutor’s Office on June 7,\u00a02020\u00a0to be charged in a new case,\u00a0reported Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran.\u00a0She is accused of “disrupting the prison\u2019s\u00a0order”\u00a0through\u00a0chanting slogans against the Islamic Republic\u00a0on eve\u00a0of February 11.<\/p>\n
Ensieh Daemi, Atena\u2019s sister, announcing the\u00a0news, wrote on her personal page: “Earlier today, Sunday June 7, the seventh case was opened against Atena at\u00a0Branch\u00a02\u00a0of Evin Prison Court\u00a0on charge of\u00a0disrupting the prison\u2019s\u00a0order through\u00a0chanting slogans against the Islamic Republic\u00a0on eve\u00a0of February 11. As such, over the last eight months, every 2 months, one case has been opened against Atena.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition, Ms. Daemi has previously been tried\u00a0at\u00a0Branch 24 of the Revolutionary Court,\u00a0on charges of insulting the sanctities.\u00a0During the course of her imprisonment, she was also sentenced to three years and seven months in prison, in\u00a0another case, along with\u00a0Golrokh Eraei.
