Breathing in Confinement: The death sentences for three detainees of November 2019 uprising, Mohammad Rajabi, Amir Hossein Moradi, and Saeed Tamjidi have been upheld by the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, the lawyers of these detainees announced that their clients\u2019 death sentences were upheld by the Supreme Court. Islamic Republic authorities had earlier denied it though.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Mustafa Nili, one of the detainees\u2019 lawyer, wrote on his Twitter page: “Unfortunately, my clients\u2019 death sentences have been upheld by the Supreme Court at the appeal stage. “So far we have not been allowed to enter the case.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
These rulings had previously been challenged by various organizations and personalities.<\/p>\n

Morgan Ortega’s, State Department spokeswoman, tweeted in response to the death sentence against the three November uprising protesters: “The U.S. strongly condemns Iran’s decision to sentence Amir-Hossein Moradi, Saeed Tamjidi and Mohammad Rajabi to death. These protesters were reportedly beaten, denied lawyers, and coerced into false confessions. Iran must respect human rights and stop these executions.”<\/p>\n
