According to Insaf News, after a month of being in custody, the detention of Sharmin Meymandinejad, the founder of Imam Ali Society, was extended.<\/p>\n

Referring to Mr. Meymandinejad\u2019s case, the Society’s Public Relations Officer said: “Currently, we have no information about the charges against him. We tried to release him on bail, but they said his detention had been extended. We raised the issue of his illness. They, however, said that he had no illnesses.”<\/p>\n
According to this report, the medical evidence submitted about Mr. Meymandinejad’s illness has been rejected.<\/p>\n

Regarding the details of the cases against two other members of Imam Ali Society, who have been recently released, the Society’s Public Relations Officer stated: “The initial investigation is confidential and cannot be made public.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut the fact that Mr. Meymandinejad does not have access to a lawyer has made things difficult and we have not been permitted to meet him at all. He has been in solitary confinement for thirty days and has a very difficult condition. Given that he is a well-reputed person and everyone knows him as a benefactor, we do not know why he should be in prison.” the Society’s Public Relation Officer added.<\/p>\n

Two other members of the group, who were detained along with Sharmin Meymandinejad, have been recently released on bail.<\/p>\n

Sharmin Meymandinejad, the founder of Imam Ali’s Popular Students Relief Society, along with Morteza Kei-Manesh, the Society\u2019s Media Relations Manager, and Katayoun Afrazeh, the Society\u2019s Substitute Inspector , were arrested by security forces on \u00a0June 21, and Imam Ali’s Popular Students Relief Society\u2019s office in Tehran was sealed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
