After spending 45 days in custody, he was released\u00a0 on a bail of one billion Tomans, awaiting the trial. Mr. Mutab was then sentenced in absentia by the Revolutionary Court in Tabriz to five years in prison on charges of &#8220;propaganda against the regime&#8221; and &#8220;membership in the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization.&#8221; Majid Mutab appealed his in absentia sentence and afterward, Branch 3 of the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz reduced his sentence to 3 years and 8 months in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Branch 7 of the Court of Appeals reduced Mr. Mutab Pourrezaei\u2019s sentence to 5 months in prison on charge of &#8220;propaganda against the regime&#8221; and to 2 years in prison on charge of &#8220;membership in the Mojahedin-e Khalq Organization.&#8221; According to Article 134, the most severe punishment, ie 2 years of imprisonment, is applicable to him.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Political prisoner Majid Mutab Pourrezaei had also been detained for seven and a half years in the 1980s.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bciran.org\/wplocationen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/\u0645\u062c\u06cc\u062f-\u0645\u0648\u062a\u0627\u0628\u06f1-205x300-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3733\" src=\"http:\/\/bciran.org\/wplocationen\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/\u0645\u062c\u06cc\u062f-\u0645\u0648\u062a\u0627\u0628\u06f1-205x300-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"205\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; 24-February-2022 Newsgroup: Prisoners &ndash; &nbsp; Breathing in Confinement: On Thursday, February 24, 2022, a former political prisoner, Majid Mutab Pourrezaei, was arrested by security forces at his workplace in Tabriz and transferred to the city&rsquo;s prison to serve his sentence.
