Breathing in Confinement: On February 22, 2022, Peyman Gholami, a political prisoner detained in Ward 8 of Evin Prison and one of the detainees of the November 2019 protests, was transferred to Taleghani Hospital in Tehran after contracting CVD-19 and because of his deteriorating condition. He was transferred to the intensive care unit due to a drop in his blood oxygen level.<\/p>\n

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, on February 22, 2022, Peyman Gholami, a political prisoner imprisoned in Evin Prison and one of the detainees of November 2019 protests, was transferred to Taleghani Hospital in Tehran after contracting Covid-19 and when his condition deteriorated following being denied medical care in prison. He was transferred to the intensive care unit due to a drop in his blood oxygen level.<\/p>\n

According to the reports, several political prisoners, including Payam Shakiba and Saeed Samimi, despite having suspected symptoms of Covid-19, have been denied medical care and even have not been tested for the disease. In addition, Reza Mazaheri has been tested positive for Covid-19, but he also has not received any medical treatment.<\/p>\n
