Breathing in Confinement: After 16 days, on Thursday, May 5, the civil activist Behnam Mousavand ended his hunger strike at the hospital.<\/p>\n
According to the Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, a civil activist Behnam Mousavand, ended his hunger strike at the hospital.
\nMr Musavand had been on hunger strike since Tuesday, April 19, in protest of prison conditions.<\/p>\n

On February 1, 2018, Behnam Moosivand was arrested at his home by intelligence agents and transferred to the Ministry of Intelligence Detention Center, Ward 209 of Evin Prison and on March 19, 2018, he was released on bail.<\/p>\n
In September 2019, Behnam Moosivand was sentenced by Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran, headed by Judge Mohammad Moghiseh, to five years in prison on charge of \u201cconspiracy to act against national security\u201d and one year in prison on charge of \u201cpropaganda activities against the regime.\u201d\u00a0 The verdict was later upheld by Branch 36 of the Tehran Court of Appeals. According to Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the most severe punishment, ie 5 years in prison, is applicable to him on the charge of \u201cconspiracy and colluding to act against national security.\u201d Mr. Moosivand was finally arrested on June 15, 2021, after appearing in the Judgment Enforcement Unit of the Evin Court, and was transferred to Evin Prison to serve his sentence.
