Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Friday, June 10, 2022, three prisoners sentenced to death for drug-related crimes were executed in Urmia Prison. The prisoners had been transferred to solitary confinement a day before.<\/p>\n
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, three prisoners who had been transferred to solitary confinement a day before, were executed in Urmia Prison. The prisoners have been identified as Mohammad Reza Ghorbani, Ghilich Shokouhi and Vahid Behmaram.<\/p>\n
Earlier, “Breathing in a Confinement” had published a report on the transfer of these prisoners to solitary confinement.<\/p>\n
As of this writing, these executions have not been announced by the state media or official sources.<\/p>\n
According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, at least 383 prisoners were executed during the past Persian Year (March 20, 2021 – March 20, 2022), of which only 34 were reported by the state media, and the rest were carried out in secret.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
