Breathing in Confinement: On Saturday, August 27, Kasra Nouri, a master’s student in human rights and a Gonabadi Dervish imprisoned in Adel Abad prison in Shiraz, was transferred from the political ward of this prison to an “unknown location”. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Saturday, August 27, 2022, Kasra Nouri, a Gonabadi Dervish was transferred from the political ward of Adel Abad prison in Shiraz to an unknown place. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Pouria Nouri, Kasra’s brother announced this news on his page in social media on Saturday, August 27, 2022. He wrote: “Kasra Nouri was forcibly transferred to an unknown location from the political ward of Adel Abad prison at around 12:30 this afternoon. His transfer was with intimidation and without submitting a court warrant and the reason for it was not even communicated verbally. We are extremely worried for him and are unaware of his condition.”<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Kasra Nouri was arrested at dawn on February 20, 2018, following the events in Golestan 7th district in Tehran, and was transferred to Great Tehran Prison. <\/span><\/span><\/span>In December 2019, he was transferred to Adel Abad prison in Shiraz. Mr. Nouri was then transferred to Evin Prison in February 2021 and finally returned to Adelabad Prison in Shiraz on March 19 of the same year. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Kasra Nouri was tried in August 2018 at Branch 26 of Revolutionary Court in Tehran headed by Judge Ahmadzadeh and was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment, 74 lashes, 2 years of exile to Salas Babajani, 2 years of ban on leaving the country and 2 years of ban on membership in political and social groups and parties, as well as ban on any activities in social media. As Mr. Nouri refused to appeal the court’s decision, the verdict was later upheld and notified to him. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

With the application of the Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the most severe punishment of 7 and a half years of penal servitude is applicable to him.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
