“Breathing in Confinement”: on February 16, 2024, Keyvan Rahimian, a Baha’i citizen, was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court to nine years in prison, six years of deprivation from social rights, as well as a cash penalty.
\nAccording to the “Breathing in Confinement,” the news organ, of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, Keyvan Rahimian, a Baha’i citizen, was sentenced to imprisonment and other penalties.
\nBased on a verdict issued by Branch Fifteen of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, Mr. Rahimian has been sentenced to five years in prison, six years of social rights deprivation, and a fine of fifty million tomans for the charge of “engaging in deviant educational or promotional activities contrary to Islamic law,” and sentenced to four years in prison for the charge of “participation in gatherings and collusion to commit crimes against national security.”
\nIf this verdict is confirmed in the appellate stage, the most severe punishment of five years’ imprisonment will be enforceable against Mr. Rahimian.
\nThe trial for the charges against this Baha’i citizen had been held on Saturday, January 6th of this year at the same branch.
\nMr. Rahimian was arrested on July 18, 2023, by security forces in Tehran and was later transferred to Evin Prison.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
