\nBreathing in Confinement: At dawn on Monday, August 19, 2024, the death sentence of two prisoners on the charge of “murder” was executed in Ghezelhasar Prison in Karaj.<\/p>\n
According to “Breathing in Confinement”, the news organ of the\u00a0 Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, on Monday, August 19, 2024, the death sentence of two prisoners was carried out in Ghezelhasar Prison.
\nThe identities of these prisoners, 38-year-old Mohammad Karmizadeh, from Kuhdasht, and Ismail Javadi, have been verified by “Breathing in Confinement”.<\/p>\n
Mohammad Karmizadeh was arrested on drug charges and sentenced to life imprisonment. However, he killed his wife during a prison visit, which led to a death sentence. Another prisoner, Ismail Javadi, was arrested and sentenced to death on the charge of honor killing.<\/p>\n
As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n
According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 848 citizens were executed in 2023. Of these, 7 were executed in public. 57 percent of the executions were for drug related charges.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
