The identity of this prisoner has been confirmed by \u201cBreathing in Confinement\u201d as Abbas Karimi Borouzadi.<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the information received by \u201cBreathing in Confinement,\u201d Abbas Karimi Borouzadi, son of Ali, had previously been arrested on charges of murder and sentenced to execution. He was the father of two young children (named Ali and Albalu). Abbas Karimi had been transferred to solitary confinement last month in preparation for the execution of his sentence, but was given a reprieve until October 17 to seek the consent of the victim\u2019s family. However, the victim\u2019s family did not grant pardon, and according to sentence number 0100418 and letter number 62.00941, dated April 28, 2021, he was executed at 5 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, in the courtyard of Dastgerd Central Prison in Isfahan.<\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 848 citizens were executed in 2023.
