The identities of these prisoners, Mansour Rastakhiz and Yousef Ahmadi, have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.<\/strong><\/p>\n According to a report from Breathing in Confinement,\u00a0Yousef Ahmadi had previously been arrested on charges of premeditated murder and sentenced to death. According to an informed source, Ahmadi committed the murder due to honor-related issues and was ultimately executed as victim\u2019s family declined to pardon him. Mansour Rastakhiz had previously been detained on drug-related charges and was held in Menujan Prison. He was transferred to Kahnuj Prison last week for the execution and was executed there alongside Yousef Ahmadi on Monday morning.<\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners\u00a0 has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 848 citizens were executed in 2023.
