Iraj Ahadi had been in detention under a death sentence for the past 8 years.<\/p>\n<p>Ahmad Alizadeh\u2019s execution was carried out for the second time, despite initial consent from the victim\u2019s family to halt the execution during the first attempt two months ago. He had been on the gallows for 28 seconds before being taken down and revived after the family\u2019s intervention. Mohsen Moradi, Jafar Rastgar, Hamzeh Tarkashvand, Khaled Tajik, and Jafar Rahsepar had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and were sentenced to death.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners\u00a0 has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the\u00a0<strong>Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran<\/strong>, at least\u00a0<strong>848 citizens\u00a0<\/strong>were executed in 2023.
