Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Saturday, November 16, the execution of a prisoner sentenced to death for the charge of \u201cpremeditated murder\u201d was carried out in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.<\/p>\n
According to Breathing in Confinement<\/strong>, the news agency of the League for the Human Rights of Iranian Prisoners, at least one prisoner was executed on Saturday morning, November 16, 2024, in Dastgerd Prison on charges of \u201cmurder.\u201d The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Sajjad Karami<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Sajjad Karami, son of Abdolrasoul and a resident of Varnamkhast, a district of Lenjan County, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of \u201cpremeditated murder.\u201d He was hanged at dawn on Saturday, November 16, in the courtyard of Isfahan Central Prison.<\/p>\n No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner\u00a0 has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the\u00a0Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran<\/strong>, at least\u00a0848 citizens\u00a0<\/strong>were executed in 2023.
