He fainted due to the severity of the torture and, upon regaining consciousness, was in a dire physical state. Beheshti pleaded for medical assistance, but his requests were ignored by the officers and authorities at the station, who took no steps to address his condition.<\/p>\n<p>He was left unattended and soon succumbed to his injuries from the torture.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, Beheshti&#8217;s body was buried under the supervision of officers, without any medical examiner&#8217;s authorization. Authorities threatened and intimidated his family, warning them against publicizing the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Since the beginning of President Pezeshkian&#8217;s administration (July 22, 2024), this marks the eighth reported case of death under torture in Iran&#8217;s detention centers and prisons, as revealed by human rights activists.<\/p>\n<p>The names of the seven other victims who have died under torture during this period are as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Seyed Mohammad Mousavi \u2013 Lahijan Police Station<\/li>\n<li>Masoumeh Hoveizat \u2013 Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz<\/li>\n<li>Komeil Abolhasani \u2013 Tonekabon Detention Center<\/li>\n<li>An Unnamed Prisoner \u2013 Gilan Gharb Criminal Investigation Department<\/li>\n<li>Amirreza Hamedi Osmanvandani \u2013 Ahmad Sar Gooran Police Station<\/li>\n<li>Maziar Moadab \u2013 Rasht Detention Center<\/li>\n<li>Akbar Ghaffari \u2013 Malekan Criminal Investigation Department<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The regime&#8217;s inaction regarding deaths under torture in detention centers highlights the systematic nature of these violent practices. These incidents underscore the judiciary&#8217;s support for officers who, without fear of repercussions, commit such crimes.
