\u201cBreathing in Confinement\u201d: At dawn on Monday, January 6, the death sentences of at least two prisoners who had been arrested and convicted of \u201crape\u201d were carried out in Mahabad Prison.<\/p>\n
According to \u201cBreathing in Confinement,\u201d the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, on the morning of Monday, January 6, two prisoners were executed in Mahabad Prison on charges of \u201crape.\u201d The identities of the prisoners have been confirmed as Ali Atin and Seyyed Reza Seyyedi.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n As reported by \u201cBreathing in Confinement,\u201d Ali Atin, the son of Mohammad Amin, unmarried and a resident of Rabat, a town near Sardasht, and Seyyed Reza Seyyedi, the son of Seyyed Gader, married and the father of four children from the village of Koulseh Sofla near Sardasht, were arrested in a joint case in 2021 on charges of \u201crape.\u201d The sentences were carried out at dawn on Monday, January 6, in Mahabad Prison.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the\u00a0Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran<\/strong>, at least\u00a0848 citizens\u00a0<\/strong>were executed in 2023.
