Breathing in Confinement: At dawn on Tuesday, January 7, the execution of at least four prisoners convicted of \u201cmurder\u201d was carried out in Dizelabad Prison, Kermanshah.<\/p>\n
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, four prisoners accused of \u201cmurder\u201d were executed in Kermanshah Prison on Tuesday morning, January 7. The identities of the prisoners\u2014Ashkan Kazemi, Farman Afristam, Mozaffar Shahsavari, and Mohammad Shahidi\u2014have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.<\/p>\n
Based on information from Breathing in Confinement, Ashkan Kazemi, son of Mashallah, an army officer from the village of Kazem Khani-olya in Gawar, Gilan-e Gharb, was arrested four years ago on charges of \u201cmurder\u201d of his wife, his wife\u2019s brother, and her lawyer. The murders were committed using his service weapon during a dispute over dowry. He was subsequently sentenced to death.<\/p>\n
Farman Afristam, a father of two from the village of Milkeh Shirkhan in the Korzan region of Kermanshah, was arrested four years ago on charges of \u201cmurder\u201d and sentenced to death.<\/p>\n
Mozaffar Shahsavari, 45 years old, the son of Akbar, was from the village of Shahbodagh in the Firuzabad district of Kermanshah. Similarly, Mohammad Shahidi, 37 years old from Kermanshah, was arrested four years ago in separate cases on charges of \u201cmurder\u201d and sentenced to death.<\/p>\n
The sentences were carried out at dawn on Tuesday, January 7, in Dizelabad Prison, Kermanshah.<\/p>\n
No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the\u00a0Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran<\/strong>, at least\u00a0848 citizens\u00a0<\/strong>were executed in 2023.
