The identities of the executed individuals\u2014Farzad Mirzaei, Samad Hashemi, and Farhad Fardini\u2014have been verified by Breathing in Confinement.<\/p>\n<p>Based on information from Breathing in Confinement\u2019s reporter, Farzad Mirzaei, son of Khosrow and a resident of Harsin, was arrested eight years ago on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. Samad Hashemi, son of Mohammad Beg, and Farhad Fardini, son of Hojjat, both residents of Harsin, were previously arrested in a joint case on similar charges and sentenced to execution. The death sentences were carried out at dawn on Sunday, January 26, in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Karaj.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"mb-2 flex gap-3 empty:hidden -ml-2\">\n<div class=\"items-center justify-start rounded-xl p-1 flex\">\n<div class=\"flex items-center\"><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the\u00a0<strong>Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran<\/strong>, at least\u00a0<strong>848 citizens\u00a0<\/strong>were executed in 2023.
