Previously, Breathing in Confinement had reported the execution of one prisoner.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"458\" data-end=\"764\">According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners&#8217; Rights League in Iran, two prisoners were executed in Ahvaz Prison on Thursday morning, February 20, 2025. Their identities have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as <strong data-start=\"691\" data-end=\"708\">Vahid Zeilaei<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"713\" data-end=\"731\">Babak Hajipour<\/strong> .<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"766\" data-end=\"1112\">Based on received information, <strong data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"814\">Vahid Zeilaei<\/strong>, a resident of Ahvaz, had been arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death. Breathing in Confinement had previously revealed the identity of <strong data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1001\">Babak Hajipour<\/strong>, a resident of Masjed Soleyman, who had also been arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1114\" data-end=\"1212\" data-is-last-node=\"\">The sentences were carried out at dawn on Thursday, February 20, in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"mb-2 flex gap-3 empty:hidden -ml-2\">\n<div class=\"items-center justify-start rounded-xl p-1 flex\">\n<div class=\"flex items-center\"><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report of the Statistics Center of the\u00a0<strong>Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran<\/strong>, at least\u00a0<strong>848 citizens\u00a0<\/strong>were executed in 2023.
