The prisoner has been identified by Breathing in Confinement as Ali Ashrafi.<\/p>\n<p>According to further information from reliable sources reported by Breathing in Confinement, the execution of Ali Ashrafi \u2014 who was arrested five years ago on murder charges and sentenced to death \u2014 was carried out in front of the village residents in Qaleh Abdollah, Kharqan Rural District, Bastam District, Shahroud County. In a previous report, Breathing in Confinement had revealed the execution of three prisoners in Shahroud last year.<\/p>\n<p>A knowledgeable source familiar with Ali Ashrafi\u2019s case and the circumstances of his execution told Breathing in Confinement:<br \/>\n\u201cThe local base commander tricked and bribed Ali Ashrafi, giving him money and asking him to pour a prepared bucket of water on his sister-in-law to scare her. But in a calculated move, the commander gave Ashrafi a bucket full of acid instead of water, which he poured on the woman on the spot, resulting in her death.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ali Ashrafi was tried for murder and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out on 18 November 2024 in public in the village of Qaleh Agha Abdollah.
