\nNews outlet: Protests \u2013 Retirees<\/p>\n
According to Breathing in Confinement, citing the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least nine protest gatherings were held across various cities in Iran on Monday, 14 April 2025. These demonstrations largely centred around labour demands and opposition to economic injustices.<\/p>\n
In one of the largest coordinated actions, retired employees of the Telecommunications Company gathered or marched in the cities of Isfahan, Tabriz, Bijar, Sanandaj, and Rasht. They chanted slogans such as: \u201cThe Execution Headquarters has stolen our rights\u201d, \u201cEtemad Mobin Company of the IRGC has stolen our rights\u201d, \u201cThis much injustice, no nation has ever seen\u201d, \u201cWe saw no justice, only heard lies\u201d,\u00a0 \u201cShame on the lying manager\u201d, \u201cWe won\u2019t stop until we get what\u2019s ours\u201d<\/p>\n
Protesters held the IRGC\u2019s Cooperative Foundation and the Execution of Imam Khomeini\u2019s Order responsible for their situation, demanding the implementation of directive 89\/24 and the payment of overdue entitlements.<\/p>\n
In Tehran, retirees from the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) also staged a demonstration in front of the organisation\u2019s headquarters, protesting the non-payment of their overdue benefits and the low level of their wages and allowances.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in Nahavand, local farmers protested against the lack of allocation of chemical fertilisers and repeated unfulfilled promises by local officials, demanding immediate attention to their difficulties.<\/p>\n
In Ardakan, freight truck drivers protested new restrictions on cargo loading procedures. Chanting slogans such as \u201cWe won\u2019t rest until we get our loads back\u201d and \u201cIncompetent officials, shame on you,\u201d they called for a review of recent policies and the removal of barriers to their work.<\/p>\n
