Simultaneously, families of political prisoners sentenced to death gathered in protest outside Evin Prison and in 15 Khordad Park in Saqqez to voice their opposition to the execution orders issued for their loved ones.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1094\" data-end=\"1145\">In a statement, the political prisoners declared:<\/p>\n<blockquote data-start=\"1146\" data-end=\"1502\">\n<blockquote data-start=\"155\" data-end=\"546\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"157\" data-end=\"546\">\u201cThe widespread and blatant violations of human rights in Iran that we witness <strong data-start=\"236\" data-end=\"256\">on a daily basis<\/strong> are a serious warning to society, human rights activists, and international organisations. The world\u2019s inaction and silence in the face of this situation only serve to strengthen authoritarian rule and increase the number of victims among the oppressed people of Iran and those in prison.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1504\" data-end=\"2280\">Hunger strikes were reported in the following prisons:<br data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1561\" \/><strong data-start=\"1561\" data-end=\"1579\">Greater Tehran<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1581\" data-end=\"1589\">Evin<\/strong> (women\u2019s ward and wards 4, 6, and 8), <strong data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1643\">Qezel Hesar<\/strong> (units 3 and 4), <strong data-start=\"1661\" data-end=\"1678\">Karaj Central<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1680\" data-end=\"1695\">Khorramabad<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1697\" data-end=\"1708\">Naqadeh<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1710\" data-end=\"1718\">Khoy<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1720\" data-end=\"1731\">Mashhad<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1733\" data-end=\"1743\">Saqqez<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1745\" data-end=\"1756\">Ardabil<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1758\" data-end=\"1771\">Qaemshahr<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1773\" data-end=\"1782\">Urmia<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1784\" data-end=\"1795\">Marivan<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1797\" data-end=\"1809\">Kamyaran<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1811\" data-end=\"1820\">Baneh<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1822\" data-end=\"1832\">Salmas<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1834\" data-end=\"1853\">Military Prison<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1855\" data-end=\"1877\">Adelabad in Shiraz<\/strong> (women&#8217;s and men&#8217;s wards), <strong data-start=\"1905\" data-end=\"1914\">Rasht<\/strong> (women&#8217;s and men&#8217;s wards), <strong data-start=\"1942\" data-end=\"1949\">Bam<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"1961\">Tabriz<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1963\" data-end=\"1971\">Arak<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1973\" data-end=\"1983\">Kahnuj<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1985\" data-end=\"1997\">Asadabad<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1999\" data-end=\"2019\">Dastgerd Isfahan<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2021\" data-end=\"2030\">Tabas<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2032\" data-end=\"2050\">Khorin Varamin<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2052\" data-end=\"2062\">Rudsar<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2064\" data-end=\"2073\">Ahvaz<\/strong> (women&#8217;s and men&#8217;s wards), <strong data-start=\"2101\" data-end=\"2114\">Ramhormoz<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2116\" data-end=\"2126\">Talesh<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2128\" data-end=\"2140\">Borazjan<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2142\" data-end=\"2152\">Joveyn<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2154\" data-end=\"2172\">Gonbad-e Kavus<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2174\" data-end=\"2188\">Kermanshah<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2190\" data-end=\"2200\">Qazvin<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2202\" data-end=\"2214\">Miandoab<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2216\" data-end=\"2235\">Azbarom Lahijan<\/strong>, and the <strong data-start=\"2245\" data-end=\"2279\">women\u2019s ward of Zahedan Prison<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1504\" data-end=\"2280\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2282\" data-end=\"2304\">In other developments:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2305\" data-end=\"2774\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2305\" data-end=\"2522\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2307\" data-end=\"2522\"><strong data-start=\"2307\" data-end=\"2337\">Parents of school students<\/strong> gathered in front of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution in <strong data-start=\"2428\" data-end=\"2438\">Tehran<\/strong> to protest the inclusion of <strong data-start=\"2467\" data-end=\"2497\">all final exams in Year 11<\/strong> in national assessments.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"2523\" data-end=\"2774\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2525\" data-end=\"2774\"><strong data-start=\"2525\" data-end=\"2583\">Bulk cement transporters from Khuzestan Cement Company<\/strong> held a protest against what they called an ill-considered decision by <strong data-start=\"2654\" data-end=\"2690\">Ramhormoz City\u2019s Traffic Council<\/strong>, which banned them from using the road between <strong data-start=\"2738\" data-end=\"2773\">Ramhormoz and Bandar-e Khomeini<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>15 April 2025News Group: Protests Breathing in Confinement &ndash; On Tuesday, 15 April 2025, as the hunger strike by political prisoners expanded to 40 prisons across the country, families of political prisoners sentenced to death also held protest gatherings in Tehran and Saqqez.
