Breathing in Confinement \u2013 On Monday, 21 April 2025, at least fourteen protest gatherings and demonstrations took place across various cities.<\/p>\n
According to the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, Breathing in Confinement, the family of political prisoner Hamid Hosseinnezhad Heydaranlou, who is sentenced to death, continued their sit-in for a fifth consecutive day outside Urmia Prison, protesting the death sentence, the lack of transparency regarding his case, and the authorities\u2019 failure to respond. They called for an immediate halt to his execution.<\/p>\n
Telecommunications pensioners in Kermanshah, Bijar, Rasht, Zanjan, Tehran, Tabriz, Marivan, Sanandaj, Isfahan, and Bandar Abbas staged marches and protests against what they described as continued injustice by the Execution of Imam Khomeini\u2019s Order (Setad) and the IRGC Cooperative Foundation, citing the failure to implement regulation 89\/24 and the non-payment of their entitlements.
\nProtesters chanted slogans such as:
\n\u2022 \u201cSetad-e Farman-e Imam has taken over telecom and stolen our rights!\u201d
\n\u2022 \u201cWe won\u2019t rest until we get what we\u2019re owed!\u201d
\n\u2022 \u201cThe retired are awake and reject oppression!\u201d
\n\u2022 \u201cThe Executive Headquarters has stolen our rights!\u201d
\n\u2022 \u201cNo nation has ever witnessed this much injustice!\u201d
\n\u2022 \u201cLying parliament\u2014where are your promises?\u201d<\/p>\n
Workers at Phase 12 of the South Pars refinery held their third day of protests inside the refinery compound and administrative building, demanding the payment of outstanding leave entitlements from the previous year.<\/p>\n
Residents of Dehmord village, in the Bakhtagan district, protested the damaging operations of a nearby mine, which is active dangerously close to residential areas.<\/p>\n
