Breathing in Confinement \u2013 On Monday, April 28, 2025, at least fourteen protest gatherings and demonstrations took place across Iran.
\nAccording to the Statistics Center of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, Breathing in Confinement, telecommunications retirees organized protest marches and gatherings in the cities of Kermanshah, Bijar, Rasht, Zanjan, Tehran, Tabriz, Marivan, Sanandaj, Isfahan, Khorramabad, Ilam, and Ahvaz. Protesters denounced ongoing oppression by the Executive Headquarters and the IRGC\u2019s Cooperative Foundation, their refusal to comply with Regulation 89\/24, and the failure to settle retirees\u2019 outstanding claims.<\/p>\n
Participants expressed solidarity with victims of the recent explosion at Rajaei Port, which resulted in dozens of deaths. Their chants included calls such as \u201cDeath to the oppressor,\u201d \u201cShame on the lying shareholders,\u201d \u201cCondolences to Iran,\u201d \u201cCondolences to Hormozgan,\u201d and \u201cCondolences to Bandar Abbas.\u201d They also protested against mismanagement and injustice, chanting \u201cAn incompetent minister: a school is not a military base,\u201d \u201cDeath to looters,\u201d \u201cThe Headquarters of the Imam\u2019s Command has stolen our rights,\u201d \u201cThe IRGC\u2019s Etamad Mobin has stolen our rights,\u201d \u201cNo nation has ever witnessed such injustice,\u201d \u201cBoth Parliament and the government lie to the people,\u201d \u201cWe have seen no justice, only lies,\u201d \u201cThe company has been torn apart amid rampant profiteering,\u201d and \u201cOur salaries are in rials, but our expenses are in dollars.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a separate demonstration, members of the Vang Cooperative in Zanjan gathered in front of the Governor\u2019s Office, protesting the lack of government support for domestic production and the failure to address the cooperative\u2019s problems.<\/p>\n
Additionally, retirees from Farhangian University from across the country assembled in front of the university\u2019s Tehran campus, demanding the implementation of pension equalization measures that authorities had previously promised but failed to deliver.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
