At dawn on Tuesday, 6 May 2025, the death sentence of at least one prisoner convicted of \u201crape\u201d was carried out in the Central Prison of Arak.<\/p>\n

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, the prisoner was hanged at dawn in Arak Prison. His identity has been confirmed as Mehdi Khani by Breathing in Confinement.<\/p>\n

Mehdi Khani, son of Abouzar, was 21 years old and from the village of Khaneqah, a district of Javersian in Khondab County. He had been arrested two years ago on charges of \u201crape\u201d and subsequently sentenced to death. His execution took place at dawn on Tuesday, 6 May 2025, in Arak Central Prison.<\/p>\n
