He was convicted on the charge of \u201ccorruption on earth\u201d (efsad fel-arz).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"946\">A source familiar with the case told Breathing in Confinement: \u201cAfter ten months of uncertainty in Tabriz Prison, Ehsan Faridi is now facing a death sentence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1049\" data-end=\"1362\">According to reports, this ruling was issued with input from Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court presided over by Judge Fathinejad. The charge of \u201cwaging war against the state\u201d (moharebeh) was dismissed during the trial. The verdict has been appealed and the case is now under review by the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1364\" data-end=\"1770\">Ehsan Faridi, an engineering student specializing in manufacturing and production at the Tabriz Technical College, has previously faced separate prison sentences. In March 2024, he was sentenced to six months in prison on the charge of \u201cpropaganda against the regime.\u201d In September 2024, Criminal Court Branch 2 in Tabriz sentenced him to 18 months\u2019 imprisonment on another part of the same case.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1772\" data-end=\"1983\">Three court hearings related to the charges of moharebeh and efsad fel-arz were held via video conference at the Revolutionary Court in Tabriz on August 3, December 11, 2024, and early February 2025.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1985\" data-end=\"2452\">Ehsan Faridi was first arrested on March 8, 2024, and transferred to Tabriz Prison. He was released on bail on March 18, but was re-arrested on June 18, 2024, after being summoned to the Tabriz Prosecutor\u2019s Office. He was then transferred to the Intelligence Office. According to informed sources, he was subjected to psychological and physical torture during his detention.
