His identity, Alireza Sedighi, has been verified by Breathing in Confinement.<\/p>\n<p>The report quotes Mohammad Sadegh Akbari, the head of the Semnan Province Judiciary, who stated that following a complaint filed by a young woman from Shahroud who was the victim of rape, legal proceedings led to a death sentence, which was later upheld by one of the branches of the Supreme Court. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Sunday, 11 May 2025, in Shahroud Prison. He however, did not identify the prisoner.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\">According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
