\nBreathing in Confinement \u2013<\/p>\n

At dawn on Wednesday, 15 May 2025, the death sentences of at least two prisoners convicted of \u201cmurder\u201d and \u201csexual assault\u201d were carried out at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.<\/p>\n

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, the two prisoners were executed on Wednesday, 15 May, at Shiraz Prison. Their identities\u2014Hadi Soleimani and Isa Ahmadi\u2014have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.<\/p>\n

According to the report, Hadi Soleimani, 18, from Marvdasht, was a juvenile offender. He had been arrested two years ago at the age of 16 on charges of \u201cmurder\u201d and sentenced to death. He remained imprisoned until he turned 18. Breathing in Confinement had revealed news of his execution the previous day.<\/p>\n

The other prisoner, Isa Ahmadi, a resident of Shiraz, had previously been arrested on charges of \u201csexual assault\u201d and sentenced to death. His sentence was carried out at dawn on Wednesday, 15 May, at Shiraz Prison.<\/p>\n

According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
