Breathing in Confinement \u2013 At dawn on Tuesday, 13 May 2025, the death sentence of at least one prisoner previously convicted of drug-related offences was carried out in Bandar Abbas Central Prison.<\/p>\n

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, the execution took place early Tuesday morning. The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as Yousef Esmaeili.<\/p>\n

Yousef Esmaeili, known as \u201cOsta the Mechanic,\u201d was the son of Mohammad and a native of Sardasht. He had been arrested three years ago on drug-related charges and was sentenced to death. His sentence was carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 13 May, in Bandar Abbas Prison.<\/p>\n
