27 May 2025<\/strong> Breathing in Confinement<\/strong> \u2013 At dawn on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, the death sentences of at least two prisoners who had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges related to \u201cdrug offences\u201d were carried out at Karaj Central Penitentiary.<\/p>\n According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran, two prisoners were executed early this morning at Karaj Central Penitentiary. Their identities have been confirmed as Amir Ebrahimi<\/strong> and Rahim Amiri<\/strong>.<\/p>\n According to the report, Amir Ebrahimi<\/strong>, a resident of Harsin, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death for drug-related offences. Rahim Amiri<\/strong>, originally from Nourabad and residing in Harsin, was arrested five years ago on similar charges and also sentenced to death. The executions were carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 27 May 2025, at Karaj Central Penitentiary.<\/p>\n \n No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
