Their identities, Masoumeh Karbakhsh and Mohammadreza Mansouri, have been verified by<em> Breathing in Confinement.<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"803\" data-end=\"1342\">As reported, Masoumeh Karbakhsh, daughter of Ali, a 39-year-old woman from the village of Taqiabad in Ravar, was married and the mother of two daughters aged 7 and 14. She was arrested four years ago on charges related to drug offences and sentenced to death. On 31 December 2024, during transfer for execution, she reportedly sustained a leg fracture for unknown reasons, and the execution was halted. On 1 June 2025, despite the rope breaking during the hanging, her sentence was ultimately carried out by hanging her for the second time.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1344\" data-end=\"1655\">Mohammadreza Mansouri, a resident of Zarand, whose execution on 1 June 2025 had previously been revealed by Breathing in Confinement, had been arrested five years earlier on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. Both executions were carried out at dawn on Sunday, 1 June 2025, in Shahab Prison, Kerman.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1344\" data-end=\"1655\">\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
