Breathing in Confinement<\/strong> \u2013 The death sentence of at least one prisoner, convicted of armed drug trafficking and murder, has been carried out at the central prison in Kerman.<\/p>\n According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Monday, 21 July 2025, a prisoner was executed by hanging in Shahab Prison, Kerman. The individual has been identified by Breathing in Confinement as Mohammad Amin Habibi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n According to the report, Mohammad Amin Habibi, a resident of Khash, had previously been wanted on charges of armed drug trafficking and the murder of two police officers. He was reportedly involved in a final confrontation during which he killed one officer and left another paralysed.<\/p>\n Following his arrest, he was sentenced to death by the Criminal Court of Kerman Province. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Monday, 21 July 2025, in Shahab Prison.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
