Breathing in Confinement \u2013 The death sentence of at least one prisoner convicted on drug-related charges has been carried out in Hamedan Prison.<\/p>\n
According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at dawn on Wednesday, 23 July 2025, a prisoner was executed in Hamedan Central Prison. The prisoner has been identified as Mehdi Heydari Torkashvand.<\/p>\n
Mehdi Heydari Torkashvand, 35, from Kangavar, had previously been arrested and sentenced to death for drug-related offences. His execution was carried out early Wednesday morning, 23 July 2025, in Hamedan Central Prison.<\/p>\n

No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
