The identities of two of the executed prisoners, <strong>Fariborz Haghi <\/strong>and <strong>Mohammad Gerousi,<\/strong> have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement. <strong>The identities of the other two prisoners are still under investigation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"794\" data-end=\"1055\">Previously, Breathing in Confinement had reported the transfer of several prisoners to solitary confinement in preparation for execution. The executions of Moslem Hosseinpour (Ali) and Ali Eityvandi were halted, and both were returned to the general ward.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1347\">According to the report, Fariborz Haghi, 28, from Nourabad, and Mohammad Gerousi, from Sahneh, had previously been arrested in separate cases and sentenced to death on drug-related charges. The sentences were carried out on the morning of Sunday, 3 August 2025, in Karaj Central Prison.<\/p>\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
