The identities of the prisoners \u2013 <strong>Meysam Joudaki, Reza Bakht Avar, Sajjad Pourdanesh, Fariborz Haghi, <\/strong>and <strong>Mohammad Gerousi<\/strong> \u2013 have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement. The identities of two of these individuals had previously been reported. Earlier, Breathing in Confinement had reported the transfer of four prisoners to solitary confinement in preparation for execution. However, <strong>the executions of Ali Hosseinpour and Ali Eitavandi were halted<\/strong> and they were returned to the general ward.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1552\">According to this report, Fariborz Haghi, 28, son of Haghmorad, originally from Nurabad and residing in Kermanshah; Mohammad Gerousi (Golousi), from Sahneh; Meysam Joudaki and Reza Bakht Avar, both from Karaj; and Sajjad Pourdanesh, from Tehran, had previously been arrested in separate cases on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. Their executions were carried out in the early hours of Sunday, 3 August 2025, at Karaj Central Prison.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1552\">\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
