4 August 2025<\/strong> According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, on Monday, 4 August 2025, a prisoner in Saveh Prison was transferred to solitary confinement ahead of execution. The identity of the prisoner \u2013 Ali Showkat<\/strong> \u2013 has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement.<\/p>\n Ali Showkat had previously been arrested and sentenced to death on charges of murder.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
