The identity of this prisoner, Ali Showkat, has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement. The outlet had reported the previous day that the prisoner had been transferred to solitary confinement for execution.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"1108\">Ali Showkat had previously been arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death. Two months ago, he was transferred to solitary confinement for the execution, but the process was halted and a two-month reprieve was granted. However, his family was unable to obtain forgiveness from the victim\u2019s family. The sentence was ultimately carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 5 August 2025, in Saveh Prison.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
