Breathing in Confinement <\/strong>\u2013 On the 80th week of the \u201cTuesdays Against Executions\u201d campaign, political prisoners in 48 prisons across Iran went on hunger strike. At the same time, families of death row political prisoners held gatherings demanding a halt to executions and expressing support for the campaign.<\/p>\n

According to the Statistical Centre of the Prisoners’ Rights League in Iran (Breathing in Confinement), the hunger strikes took place in the following prisons:
Qezel Hesar (Units 1, 3, and 4), Karaj Central, Fardis Karaj, Greater Tehran, Qarchak, Khurin Varamin, Choobindar Qazvin, Ahar, Arak, Khorramabad, Yasuj, Asadabad Isfahan, Dastgerd Isfahan, Sheiban Ahvaz, Sepidar Ahvaz (women\u2019s and men\u2019s wards), Nezam Shiraz, Adelabad Shiraz (women\u2019s and men\u2019s wards), Firouzabad Fars, Zahedan (women\u2019s ward), Borazjan, Ramhormoz, Behbahan, Bam, Yazd, Kahnouj, Tabas, Mashhad, Gonbad-e-Kavus, Qaemshahr, Rasht (men\u2019s and women\u2019s wards), Rudsar, Haviq Talesh, Azbaram Lahijan, Dizelabad Kermanshah, Ardabil, Tabriz, Urmia, Salmas, Khoy, Naqadeh, Miandoab, Mahabad, Bukan, Saqqez, Baneh, Marivan, Sanandaj, and Kamyaran.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued by the political prisoners, they declared:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe, the members of the \u2018Tuesdays Against Executions\u2019 campaign, condemn the brutal attacks and torture of prisoners and salute the steadfastness of our fellow fighters. We thank all those who have echoed our voices.
We believe the escalation of executions, repression, amputations, and relentless violence is a tool to instil fear and silence a society that, since the Constitutional Revolution of 1906, has sought justice, freedom, and human dignity\u2014paying the heavy price of imprisonment, torture, and execution.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Other Civil Protests Reported Across the Country on 6 August 2025:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Shahrekord (Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province):<\/strong>
    Applicants of the National Housing Scheme gathered outside the provincial governor\u2019s office, protesting six years of delay in receiving their units and broken promises by officials.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Isfahan:<\/strong>
    Another group of National Housing applicants demonstrated outside the city\u2019s governorate, demanding accountability and protesting the absence of promised officials.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Jam Township, Bushehr:<\/strong>
    Families of operational oil workers staged a protest demanding full payment of wages, removal of pay caps, payment of end-of-service benefits, reversal of illegal pension deductions, and full enforcement of Article 10.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Azadegan Oil Field (Dasht-e Azadegan):<\/strong>
    Security workers at Petropars held a demonstration over low wages.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Tehran:<\/strong>
    On the fourth day of their protest, imported truck drivers gathered outside the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade. They protested delays in customs clearance, truck deterioration, and lack of official response. Protesters chanted:<\/p>\n

    \u201cA driver may die, but will never accept humiliation!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n

    Tehran (Ministry of Agriculture):<\/strong>
    Agricultural producers protested mismanagement and unscientific decision-making, demanding the resignation of the Minister of Agriculture.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Tazeh Kand Village (Shout County, West Azerbaijan):<\/strong>
    Residents held a demonstration protesting the lack of access to drinking water.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Sajzi Industrial Town (Isfahan):<\/strong>
    Factory owners protested the 27-day water outage, repeated power cuts, and resulting production stoppages.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
