The identity of this prisoner has been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement as <strong>Mehdi Kazemi<\/strong>. His charge has not yet been specified and remains under review.<\/p>\n<p>Mehdi Kazemi, son of Ghanbarali and a native of Darafshan village in Pirbakran, Falavarjan County, had been arrested on unspecified charges and sentenced to death. He had spent more than 12 years in prison. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Thursday, 21 August 2025, in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
