25 August 2025<\/strong> According to information obtained by Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, on Monday, 25 August 2025, six prisoners in Ghezelhesar Prison were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their execution. The identities of these prisoners have been verified by Breathing in Confinement but are being withheld.<\/p>\n These prisoners had previously been arrested on charges related to \u201cdrug offences\u201d and sentenced to death.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
