{"id":6624,"date":"2025-08-27T01:12:41","date_gmt":"2025-08-27T01:12:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bciran.org\/wplocationen\/?p=6624"},"modified":"2025-08-27T01:12:41","modified_gmt":"2025-08-27T01:12:41","slug":"nationwide-protest-against-executions-and-injustice-in-50-prisons-and-10-public-gatherings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bciran.org\/wplocationen\/prisoner\/nationwide-protest-against-executions-and-injustice-in-50-prisons-and-10-public-gatherings","title":{"rendered":"Nationwide Protest Against Executions and Injustice in 50 Prisons and 10 Public Gatherings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>26 August 2025<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>News Category: Protests \u2013 Prisoners \u2013 Workers and Guilds<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Breathing in Confinement \u2013<\/strong> Coinciding with the <strong>83rd week of the \u201cTuesdays Against Execution\u201d campaign,<\/strong> launched by political prisoners <strong>in 50 prisons<\/strong> across the country, families of political prisoners sentenced to death also held demonstrations demanding the immediate abolition of death sentences.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, at least nine other protest rallies and actions took place in different parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, in a statement marking this week\u2019s campaign, <strong>political prisoners condemned the regime\u2019s use of executions and the public hanging of two prisoners (aimed at normalising violence and spreading fear). They also denounced the conversion of Section 41 of Behesht Zahra Cemetery\u2014where thousands of victims of the 1980s massacres are buried\u2014into a car park, describing it as a shameful attempt to erase collective memory and a blatant insult to the victims and their families.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This campaign was held in the following prisons:<br \/>\nEvin; Ghezel Hesar (Units 3 and 4); Karaj Central; Fardis Karaj; Greater Tehran; Qarchak; Khorrin Varamin; Choubindar Qazvin; Ahar; Arak; Khorramabad; Yasuj; Esfahan Asadabad; Esfahan Dastgerd; Ahvaz Sheyban; Ahvaz Sepidar (men\u2019s and women\u2019s wards); Shiraz Nezam; Shiraz Adelabad (men\u2019s and women\u2019s wards); Firoozabad (Fars); Zahedan (women\u2019s ward); Borazjan; Ramhormoz; Behbahan; Bam; Yazd; Kahnouj; Tabas; Mashhad; Gonbad-e Kavus; Qaem Shahr; Rasht (men\u2019s and women\u2019s wards); Roudsar; Haviq Talesh; Azbarom Lahijan; Dizelabad Kermanshah; Ardabil; Tabriz; Urmia; Salmas; Khoy; Naqadeh; Miandoab; Mahabad; Bukan; Saqqez; Baneh; Marivan; Sanandaj; Kamyaran; and Dehdasht.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Families of political prisoners sentenced to death also held a protest rally, supporting the prisoners\u2019 hunger strike and once again demanding the revocation of these sentences.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Other protests included:<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Hakim Project victims:<\/strong> For the second consecutive day, gathered outside Tehran\u2019s Provincial Judiciary building to protest ten years of uncertainty and judicial support for fraudsters, chanting: \u201cNamdari committed fraud, the law supported it.\u201d<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>National Housing applicants in Shahr-e Kord:<\/strong> Rallied against a six-year delay in the delivery of housing units.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>High-voltage electricity workers:<\/strong> Gathered outside the Administrative and Recruitment Organisation in Tehran, demanding full implementation of the parliamentary resolution and payment of special allowances, especially for shift workers.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Razi Petrochemical workers in Mahshahr:<\/strong> Entered the 19th day of their strike, protesting unpaid wages, wage discrimination, and employer negligence.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company staff:<\/strong> Held a protest demanding full payment of wages, implementation of operational zone allowances, removal of salary caps, settlement of severance pay, cancellation of unlawful deductions, and full enforcement of Article 10 of the Oil Ministry\u2019s regulations.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Local workers of Dehloran Petro-Refinery:<\/strong> Marked their 19th day of strike over unpaid wages and wage discrimination. The company\u2019s security has so far prevented five workers from entering the site.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Kousha Khodro customers:<\/strong> Protested the failure to deliver cars after 13 months and the Ministry of Industry\u2019s negligence.<br \/>\n\u2022 <strong>Moein Khodro customers:<\/strong> Rallied outside the Ministry of Industry, protesting the company\u2019s violations, including non-delivery of vehicles on time, failure to pay participation profits and late-delivery penalties, overcharging, and refusal to issue official invoices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; 26 August 2025 News Category: Protests &ndash; Prisoners &ndash; Workers and Guilds Breathing in Confinement &ndash; Coinciding with the 83rd week of the &ldquo;Tuesdays Against Execution&rdquo; campaign, launched by political prisoners in 50 prisons across the country, families of political prisoners sentenced to death also held demonstrations demanding the immediate abolition of death sentences.
