The identities of the executed have been verified as <strong data-start=\"487\" data-end=\"503\">Kazem Fatemi<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"505\" data-end=\"524\">Hossein Biabani<\/strong> (from Kangavar), and <strong data-start=\"546\" data-end=\"565\">Ahmad-Ali Mehri<\/strong> (from Tazeh Abad, Kuhdasht).<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"596\" data-end=\"878\">Breathing in Confinement reported on Monday that six prisoners had been transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for execution. The execution of one prisoner was halted and he was returned to the general ward last night; the status of the other prisoner remains unknown.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"1249\"><strong data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"947\">Kazem Fatemi<\/strong> had been arrested and sentenced to death for allegedly carrying <strong data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1040\">12 kg of methamphetamine<\/strong> (\u201cshisheh\u201d). <strong data-start=\"1054\" data-end=\"1073\">Hossein Biabani<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1097\">Ahmad-Ali Mehri<\/strong> had also been arrested and sentenced to death on drug-related charges. The sentences were carried out at dawn on 27 August 2025 in Ghezel Hesar Prison.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"1249\">\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
