His identity has been confirmed by this human rights organisation as <strong data-start=\"790\" data-end=\"809\">Hamid Kakavandi<\/strong>. He had been transferred to solitary confinement the previous Monday along with several other death-row prisoners, but his execution was initially halted and he was returned to the general ward before being executed days later.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1236\">Hamid Kakavandi, from Harsin, had earlier been arrested on drug-related charges and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Saturday, 30 August 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1041\" data-end=\"1236\">\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
