His identity has been confirmed by this human rights organisation as <strong data-start=\"621\" data-end=\"640\">Esmaeil Dalavar<\/strong>. <em data-start=\"642\" data-end=\"668\">Breathing in Confinement<\/em> had previously reported on 19 August that he was transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for execution. However, his sentence was twice halted and he was returned to the general ward before being transferred to solitary confinement again last night and executed.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"946\" data-end=\"1276\">Esmaeil Dalavar, 25, from Shiraz, had earlier been arrested on a charge of \u201cmurder\u201d of an individual named Ahmadi and sentenced to death. Efforts by his family and friends to obtain the victim\u2019s relatives\u2019 consent were unsuccessful, and the sentence was carried out at dawn on Sunday, 31 August 2025, in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
