2 September 2025<\/strong> According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, four prisoners were hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison. The identities of two of these prisoners, \u201cSajjad Sadeghi\u201d <\/strong>and \u201cHooman Garavand,\u201d<\/strong> have been confirmed by Breathing in Confinement. The identities of the other two prisoners are still under investigation.<\/p>\n Sajjad Sadeghi, from Kuhdasht, and Hooman Garavand, from the Sartorhan district of Kuhdasht, had previously been arrested on charges related to \u201cnarcotics offences\u201d and sentenced to death. Their sentences were carried out at dawn on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n As of the time of this report, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
