The identity of this prisoner, <strong>Reza Aghajani,<\/strong> has been verified by Breathing in Confinement.<\/p>\n<p>Reza Aghajani, a resident of Tehran, had previously been arrested on drug-related charges, accused of carrying 5 kilograms of methamphetamine (shisheh), and sentenced to death. The sentence was carried out at dawn on Thursday, 4 September 2025, in Ghezel Hesar Prison.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>No official report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner\u00a0 has not been announced by official resources.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Annual Report on Executions in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the annual report by the Statistics Centre of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, at least 1,170 individuals were executed in Iran in 2024.
