News Group: Protests \u2013 Pensioners \u2013 Workers and Guilds \u2013<\/strong><\/p>\n

Breathing in Confinement \u2013<\/strong> On Sunday, at least 11 protest gatherings were held across different parts of the country by various groups of people, including pensioners, workers, and employees.<\/p>\n

According to Breathing in Confinement, the news outlet of the Prisoners\u2019 Rights League in Iran, Social Security pensioners in Rasht, Shush, Tehran, and Ahvaz staged protest gatherings against low pensions, discrimination, inequality, poverty, inflation, and rising prices. They demanded higher pensions, welfare services, and free healthcare. Pensioners also expressed support for the workers of Arak Aluminium and demanded the release of imprisoned teachers and workers. Their slogans included: \u201cArak Aluminium, we support you,\u201d \u201cWorkers and teachers, unity, unity,\u201d \u201cImprisoned workers, imprisoned teachers, must be freed,\u201d \u201cNeither Parliament nor Government, they don\u2019t care about the people,\u201d \u201cThe pensioner\u2019s fridge is emptier than before,\u201d \u201cShame on these managers,\u201d and \u201cWe will not live under oppression; we sacrifice our lives for freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n

Employees of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company in Khark, Aghajari, and the Forouzan oil platform protested unpaid wages, inequality in pay, and demanded full implementation of operational zone allowances, removal of the salary cap, full payment of severance, cancellation of unlawful pension deductions, restitution of unlawfully withheld taxes, and full enforcement of Article 10 of the Ministry of Oil\u2019s Duties and Powers.<\/p>\n

In Isfahan, retired steel and mining workers marched in protest, demanding the proper and full implementation of the pension equalisation plan. They condemned livelihood difficulties, delays in payment of dues, and existing discrimination. One of their slogans was: \u201cThe bankrupt government is the enemy of pensioners.\u201d<\/p>\n

A group of candidates from the Education Ministry\u2019s employment exam protested outside the National Inspection Organization in Tehran, calling the process and results unfair and demanding removal of the special coefficient for current employees.
Employees of the Justice Shares offices from 20 provinces gathered in front of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Welfare in Tehran. After 19 years of job insecurity, they demanded permanent employment status, immediate payment of 27 months of salary and insurance arrears, and enforcement of recent Supreme Council of the Stock Exchange decisions regarding Justice Shares.<\/p>\n

Workers of the National Steel Group in Ahvaz staged a protest for the second consecutive day outside the company\u2019s management offices, demanding immediate payment of overdue wages, settlement of Social Security insurance debts, provision of supplementary health insurance, and clarification of the company\u2019s insurance contracts.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
